he is 6 months old

That means half a year!

After the trip we're trying to do something with the messy corners. Nobody lives with this kind of junk piles. New shelves -- tomorrow?

V plays the beautiful sounding harmonica that showed up also. She's gonna be a harmonica player.

Y came home with the new Joanna Newsom, it sounds good. Strange pin-up photos of her, but pretty of course. We have tickets to see her in May. Wondering how I will manage it, to be apart from little V.

Another anniversary: 2 years since we moved here. That sounds unbelievable.

a good trip

I can't stand to look out the window. We came back from Berlin, and it was practically summer there.

No complaining. We had a wonderful trip. The weather was super and Berlin still is a city that is inviting me to live there. I thought maybe one week away from home with kids is enough, but everything was going so well. If I had brought my computer and dictionary I could've stayed. Berlin is so kid-friendly! There is a playground in every corner and people are nice. And then there are all these eko-shops in every corner too. And there are good friends. I had also my first "blog-meeting". It was nice too. Everything was nice. Little V learned to crawl after hanging out with little A, who is 3 months older. He's a little caterpillar now.

A good thing about being home again: my Immediate Family finally showed up. And there was a lovely package waiting.

Oh and photos are in Y's camera, I didn't take many.

ch-ch-changes

Little V is allowed to sit short moments and I thought he would like to be sitting at the table with us. So we switched tripp-trapp into baby mode and V chose where she wants to sit from now on. A ritual decoration. (This chair needs some work. Later, when it's warm enough outside.)

He also got something to eat... I boiled two little organic carrots with a little piece of kombu-seaweed. It hasn't been a big success so far (2 days). I had decided not to start until after our trip, but since he started to sit at the table, he got a bit more interested. V started around 5,5 months too.

V's baby, Sunflower, ate everything.

spring 2

I have made my deadlines. Now I should learn to get out to the sun. So many things that have been left undone inside. V asked me recently: "why don't you and dad ever make your bed?" I don't know where she got the idea to make her bed right after getting up. With a futon mattress it's actually recommended NOT to make the bed right away. Y asked recently: "why are you always hanging out on the bed when I come home?" I don't have answers to these questions, but I have made my deadlines and we fly to Berlin this week. And my kids are the best.

manic

A historical moment, the baby is sleeping longer than I care to work right now. I will continue in the evening, there's no time to waste. But the dollhouse is calling me now.

This is what I've been maniacally making since a couple of days. There is a nice book out (in finnish) about using left-over yarn. I don't have that book yet, but I've heard there is a pattern for making flowery hair-pins. They could become something else too. I never imagined myself as someone who would manage to make like 100 of these, but I think I might be that person now.

Underneath is a part V's new series: "Drawings from the Real World".

a tunnel

It might feel like spring, but this is how it looks like anyway. But it is there, somewhere in the air. Bird sounds. The light.

Women's day, whatever that's supposed to mean. We had the local art association's meeting, I became a "board member". It doesn't mean all that much either. But I see possibilities now, it was a good meeting. Good women.

Life feels quite heavy right now. But a good old friend is coming over tomorrow with her family. That's good.

A looks so nice here. I want those pants and short hair too. I shouldn't think about hair at night time.

spring

It felt like spring today! We had a good trip to town, me, the kids and a friend. Flea-market, an exhibition and photo-shoot of baby V. Y took it for a passport! This is the month we go to Berlin! One more deadline before that. Let me know if you have a Berlin tip.

(See also here, I'm not a fan of all of this or this concept but anyway.
I like Tiina itkonen, Anni Leppälä and Jari Silomäki. V liked Susanna Majuri.)
