I have this silly lens on the camera, "Lensbabies". I was sitting on the sofa and thinking I should go out, with a real lens. It's really beautiful outside, but I can't say I'm too into it. We had a snow fight later, that was nice. I baked a cake and cookies with okara. The cookies with no recipe turned out quite nice. I'm exhausted from shoveling the heavy snow.

Yesterday Y said to M that next summer it will possible to sleep in the new room in the log-house. Today I thought we could have a Bed&Breakfast business. Breakfast served in the veranda.

Hassulla linssillä otettuja kuvia. Sohvalta tänään. Kaunista tuo uusi lumi, mutta raskasta, monessakin mielessä. Tai siis kahdessa vain! Olen ihan poikki lumitöistä. Mutta se on ihan mukavaa. Pää on tyhjä.

rewind: mushrooms

I took out some pictures from Lightroom, I wanted to look at last year. It looks better than my memory from it. As these days are not ideal for new photos, I will post some from a different season.

These are from a great little mushroom trip with friends. It was very cold that day. R and V by a strange wall. We've just been to R's birthday party last weekend. And to see Lau Nau and Godspeed you! black emperor. And met some babies and their mothers. Oh I think I have a new favorite kid! Bought new tea.

Viime vuoden kuvia. Sieniretki kylmänä päivänä. Tuolla toisella oli juuri synttärit. Me oltiin eilen Kulttuuritalolla ja lapset mun äidin luona. Tänään tavattiin ihana äiti ja suloinen pieni poika (uusi suosikkilapsi), sitten toinen ihana äiti, jonka vauva vain nukkui.

stripes

This stripy shirt will soon travel to a little boy who is 4 days old ♡. He's one of the 3 babies I've been expecting. Little V was wearing it today too, but it's kinda small.

Minä hiihdin tänään, ihan vähän vain, kävin pelastamassa pienen keskeltä peltoa. Sain kirppikseltä myös punaiset monot. Kuvan paita lähtee pian uudelle Berliinin vauvalle ♡.

a material girl

Ok these pictures have nothing to do with right now. But the snow is melting and this older photo is pretty much how it is now. Grey. And "spoon-cakes" are so nice to make. These are with honey (no sugar) and spelt and something I don't remember. They are made with a teaspoon and glued together with some kind of jam. The best ones we made were with Birnenkraut, wonderful german stuff that is made of only pear (and apple). And a tall house that is further away than the mountain. There's a guy dropping snow from the roof.

What I want to say today is that materia makes happy! Yesterday we had a flea-market trip (to actually take something out of the house!) and I found my dream sandals. For 3€. Some other good stuff too. Today I went to a new shop and got myself 2 new things, on sale, organic, made in europe. And a new purse, recycled material, made in finland. I am so happy. Something new for the kids too, it is the sale time. And I have a credit card.

We had a girls' day on town, me and V. We went to the dollhouse exhibition at the National museum. And here and there. This time we were not longing or worrying for little V. The boys had a nice day too.

Other exhibitions I'd like to see, but I doubt I will take myself to these towns:

Voisin kirjoittaa oodin materian omistamisen onnesta ja ihanuudesta. Uusia vaatteita minulle, eikä aina vain lapsille. Niille myös. Ja sain uuden kukkaron, ihanan, elegantin ja sitä paitsi aika aikuismaisen. Oi onnea. Ja unelmieni sandaalit kirppisreissulta eilen. Meillä oli tyttöjen kaupunkipäivä. Käytiin katsomassa nukkekoteja Kansallismuseossa. Haluaisin mennä Keravalle ja Lahteen, linkit yläpuolella.

What a struggle to get work done. I have lost my confidence, the little confidence I ever had. But I guess there will be better days again. And I made a snow bear with V.

I'm eating chocolate okara cake. Y has found a recipe blog for okara that comes from tofu making.

Huh, yksi työ tehty, seuraava aloitettava. Mutta ensin pari vapaapäivää. Jostain pitäisi saada uutta puhtia. Ehkä tuosta Y:n suklaa-okara-kakusta.

the oven

Here we are, in this year. Still cold and snowy. Sitting at the computer a lot, but not being an efficient worker. Wasting time instead of crocheting pants for my little pant-less boy (I have a beautiful plan in my head). And finishing some knitted hats. And finishing my translation. And cleaning...

This is the oven that Y made. It needs some finishing touches; paint on the side and a new switch for the light. The switch is too stiff, a kid can get it on but not off. As you can see there is a purple light inside and a real timer. The "brand" is Imatra, an old bicycle brand.

He also made tofu today! A friend of ours is making his own tofu and Y got interested. I bought him 5 kg organic soy-beans in spring, but it took a while to get started. That friend + his sweet family visited us very recently and today was the day of first tofu. Tomorrow will be the day of second tofu! Yey!
