cloud shelf

Some work today: a big shelf Y's friend gave him a long time ago has been stored in a shelter outside. The other day I said to Y that we should take V's old bed to the log-house and and replace all the little shelves with that big shelf. He thought no at first but then his no changed into yes and then it all turned out to be a lot more work than we thought. I'm not sure who thought we should make it a bit cuter by cutting the upper part of the sides. Cloud shape. I say "we" but it's just he who was out in the snow with the sanding machine and a jigsaw. I can't wait to have it inside. Tomorrow maybe. It will be filled with books mostly. Kids' books, my dictionaries and other work-related stuff, photos, on-going projects. I hope there will be some empty spaces too.

What I did work today though was making a bird's nest with V of fallen branches. It's in the photo too.

En malta odottaa, että tämä hylly tulee sisälle ja ottaa hyllyillensä lasten kirjoja, työkirjoja, valokuvia, erinäisiä koreja jne. Tämän päivän projekti ja myös huomisen. Y sai hyllyn joskus ajat sitten J:ltä. Nyt siinä on suloiset pilvireunat, jotka suunniteltiin yhdessä. Tein V:n kanssa linnunpesää myrskyn pudottelemista oksista, se on tuossa alakuvassa.

Working days. Flea-market days. A precious day with F in town ♡. My-mum-day. The days do get longer, a couple minutes per day.

I will have more time soon. Less money. I intend to make things happen this time. I bought golden drawing ink.

Kaikenlaisia päiviä. Ne pitenevät pikkuhiljaa, kyllä sen huomaa. Pian aikani lisääntyy, aion käyttää sitä viisaasti.

...and other letters from upstairs. "Welcome to Sunflower's birthday party on Wednesday. Two o'clock." "It would be nice to visit on Wednesday." Wednesday is a happening day it seems. Monday isn't. On Monday we stay close to home to be ready to go her dance class. It is snowing again, as if there's not enough snow!

I'm boiling buckwheat, Y made tofu again. He bought a soy milk machine, and has been making sesame/almond milk too. He's a professional kind of guy. (He got the machine for very cheap, unused at a net auction, they are not sold in Finland.)

bird's nest

The little hide-out room now has a name. V counts it as one room. I read somewhere that the ages 4-5 are quite easy but 6 is difficult, like a pre-teen age. I don't think it's ever been easy, and we're quite close to 6th birthday. There is a huge contrast between hanging out with the happy baby and the incredibly moody girl. Today we're having a "gentle talk"-day. Nobody is allowed to be angry. She's obviously my favourite girl anyway. I just have to work on my own reactions.

Yläpaikkaa sanotaan nyt Linnun koloksi/pesäksi. Leikin jäljet on kivoja. Meillä on uusi vaikea kausi, jonka edessä vanhemmat eivät vielä osaa toimia. Vauva on niin leppoisaa seuraa. Vaikka ei kai sitä enää vauvaksi saisi sanoa.

I have this silly lens on the camera, "Lensbabies". I was sitting on the sofa and thinking I should go out, with a real lens. It's really beautiful outside, but I can't say I'm too into it. We had a snow fight later, that was nice. I baked a cake and cookies with okara. The cookies with no recipe turned out quite nice. I'm exhausted from shoveling the heavy snow.

Yesterday Y said to M that next summer it will possible to sleep in the new room in the log-house. Today I thought we could have a Bed&Breakfast business. Breakfast served in the veranda.

Hassulla linssillä otettuja kuvia. Sohvalta tänään. Kaunista tuo uusi lumi, mutta raskasta, monessakin mielessä. Tai siis kahdessa vain! Olen ihan poikki lumitöistä. Mutta se on ihan mukavaa. Pää on tyhjä.

rewind: mushrooms

I took out some pictures from Lightroom, I wanted to look at last year. It looks better than my memory from it. As these days are not ideal for new photos, I will post some from a different season.

These are from a great little mushroom trip with friends. It was very cold that day. R and V by a strange wall. We've just been to R's birthday party last weekend. And to see Lau Nau and Godspeed you! black emperor. And met some babies and their mothers. Oh I think I have a new favorite kid! Bought new tea.

Viime vuoden kuvia. Sieniretki kylmänä päivänä. Tuolla toisella oli juuri synttärit. Me oltiin eilen Kulttuuritalolla ja lapset mun äidin luona. Tänään tavattiin ihana äiti ja suloinen pieni poika (uusi suosikkilapsi), sitten toinen ihana äiti, jonka vauva vain nukkui.

I have taken these hair-do photos last year. I was going through archives; I should do something about all these photos.
I like Seth (Drawn and Quarterly). That came to my mind from thinking I miss old times, real film and more than that real photos.
