autumn accordion one year

We moved here one year ago! We should have an anniversary housewarming party. It feels longer. The oak was yellow, now it's bare.

I was never missing the old house before, but just this week I got the feeling I want to go there. Maybe on the way to greet a new baby.

So many babies have been born this October! I became an aunt. But I didn't get to meet the little boy yet. A new cousin for the accordionist and the strongest bear in the world.

Life is good, it's full of everyday stuff, but that's the life right now. Just good. After the autumn vacation my work started to feel more like work, but that's ok too. I should get some outdoors gear for myself...

I will watch Girls now. I have been watching and re-watching Julie Delpy films, she's great.

Oh my. RIP Lou Reed.

kosmos

Good morning. We've been celebrating little V's 4th birthday. He had a party full of boy energy! I'm starting to realise that having a boy is something else. He will start having friends over and it will be crazy! In a good way of course. But I think I have to work on understanding the stuff they want to do. I'm all no-gender orientated upbringing, but I happen to have quite stereotypical kids in some way... And I'm a girl. He's growing so fast and he's so into big boys, he wanted to invite V's classmates for his party. V got to invite her girls and I like those girls so much. It will be so much fun to see them all grow up. No hurry in that though. Such a privilege to be a parent.

We also celebrated St Michael, at school and at the kindergarten. Celebrations are so good.

I love this flower, we say "kosmoskukka", can it be cosmos flower?

Nauvo

These photos are from our last summer trip and it was so gloomy that day, that it didn't seem appropriate to even post them. Until now: the autumn has come. What an unusual summer and autumn. We went to our friend's summer house in the archipelago. I love the sea, but I never lived right by the sea (of course, Helsinki is by the sea...) so it really feels like a trip even though it's not so far away. I'm starting to have a long series of these two girls. The last time we went to Nauvo was when I was pregnant with little V. He's turning 4 soon. That means V was the same age then as he was now.

Well well. Two exciting things this week: we will have a dog guest for one night and a photo shoot for one day. Life is still good, working is good, weaving seems to be full of possibilities.

aamu & ilta

Morning & evening.
Weeks go by, it's my fifth week working.
I love the morning sun in this house, and the evening. The kitchen is to the east and the bedroom to the west. The light goes through the house.

V says we should have a party on the anniversary of getting the keys to this house.

new life

Ok no explanations. I tried. It's way too boring. I'm just going to write and there's no photo.

I am here, I started working at the kindergarten. Everything is so different. The season is changing. I love this house, it smells of apples, there is a cellar we could fill with apples and jam and sauerkraut. I love my mornings and bicycling down the road back home from work when it feels like autumn. Nothing is better than bicycling in the evening in autumn air. For that my way back home is too short. I'm finally going to start weaving classes next week. My child wants to try everything as a hobby; she's doing art, yoga, cooking in English, crafts, choir, scouts. And her chosen instrument is the ACCORDION!! (and not harmonica - in finnish accordion is harmonikka.) That will start next week. My other child is going through a crazy phase, I don't yet know how to deal with that. His face is all scarred from all his activities: falling down from a tree, harassing the little black cat, carrying wood. He's planning his birthday: he wants a hooded sweater and pants, an ice-cream cake, a huge robot and boots. And he's a natural born break-dancer.

There are so many good people around us, I'm really happy to have befriended them. Life is full and happy right now. I want to write that down. Almost one year ago we came to this house for the first time.

we have a trampoline

Back in the day we didn't. There's a perfect spot for the trampoline on our yard. Y found a good second-hand one. And yes we will get a protective net around it.

Domestic scenes: cat in the sun, kids with comics -- this happens a lot on our new library kitchen sofa; always reminds me of Sally Mann's "Sunday funnies" --, cat's house and mailbox, pizza.

We went to the archipelago for a little bit.
We went to Linnanmäki (amusement park).
I got a job.
