day after

yesterday was our big party day! everyone invited came. the weather was good - but we seem to be the only house having loads of mosquitos already! not fair.
we are getting back to normal after cakes and presents... it was great present year! nothing stupid or unthought of. (i prefer no gifts to some useless or ugly stuff)
we got a lot of our boxes disappear somehow, and kamari was in full use for the first time. my vision of kids eating around the white table came true and it was quite special for them too.
C brought a wonderful cake, N brought 2 wonderful cakes, my first experiment with a no-oven agar-agar cake was wonderful too (the second one failed, but we ate it as a strawberry-tofu sauce with heavy chocolate cake, yum)... oh i could go on and on, but i will just quote V: i asked her today what was the nicest thing yesterday, she said "everything".

V was against the balloons hanging but i was determined
V jumping in kamari, the huge closet looking not so huge
V's dream came true! thank you V & R

and thank you everybody ♥♥

Yay Hanna very glad to hear V loved her party. That pram is gorgeous! I'm intrigued by the roof above the balloons! It must look amazing from the outside??

thank you for being happy for us...

Kirti, the ceiling is amazing only from inside. we needed to have a window above the door for esthetic reasons and Y came up with the "diamond" plan to get light through that window; otherwise the ceiling would've been just straight. i thought "Why waste time on that?" but then i'm of course very happy with result...

Marie, the wallpaper is from a finnish company, Tapettitalo, and it is designed by the finnish designer Birger Kaipiainen in the 50's. i love it too, but it is quite demanding: it demands peace and quiet and ascetic surrounding...

Voi kuinka iloa täynnä olevat kuvat! Meillä oli lapsena (ja on yhä mummolassa) ihan samanlaiset nukenvaunut!

That room looks interesting! And you actually rebuilt it yourself, Y really seems talented (is he an architect?)

k.k., do you mean the balloon picture? it is veranda through an old door in the new part. Y is a photographer and new to all this building stuff. natural talent! paying a lot of attention to details.
