steamy window

this reminds me of noninoko book, Futari no hand. M & K borrowed me that book, and also a magazine featuring them. a mother and 2 daughters creating and playing. she has also made a wonderful book about himmeli (finnish straw mobile kind of thing). i have that book at home too, thanks to M & K. despite all that V was drawing on the window while taking a bath. it is a girl and a mother... last night i dreamt of a new born baby girl, very round face and dark eyebrows. her name was to be magic.

oh yeah, i put the handkerchief curtain in the bathroom with cute little lopes and some cord. i stand there staring at it, i'm so happy with it. i have another spot i'm staring at, picture soon, maybe

day after

yesterday was our big party day! everyone invited came. the weather was good - but we seem to be the only house having loads of mosquitos already! not fair.
we are getting back to normal after cakes and presents... it was great present year! nothing stupid or unthought of. (i prefer no gifts to some useless or ugly stuff)
we got a lot of our boxes disappear somehow, and kamari was in full use for the first time. my vision of kids eating around the white table came true and it was quite special for them too.
C brought a wonderful cake, N brought 2 wonderful cakes, my first experiment with a no-oven agar-agar cake was wonderful too (the second one failed, but we ate it as a strawberry-tofu sauce with heavy chocolate cake, yum)... oh i could go on and on, but i will just quote V: i asked her today what was the nicest thing yesterday, she said "everything".

V was against the balloons hanging but i was determined
V jumping in kamari, the huge closet looking not so huge
V's dream came true! thank you V & R

and thank you everybody ♥♥

yesterday

visuals for yesterday: dirty windows and V on the phone with my dad.

a good day today, delivering 2 more invitations, getting to jump on trampoline while doing that, food shopping in a different center, a beautiful road leads there, lots of horses and a beautiful setting of cows in a landscape. i realised that i have learned to enjoy my days a bit more even though i can't work. or, i mean, the stress is not so bad, i don't feel stressed doing all the nice things. i'm starting to get enough of digging though.

and i have positive thoughts about one kindergarten.
and i managed to plant a tree that has caused a lot of arguing.
and i finally got an inspiration for a cake. very positive huh.

N.G.

this is my old cat N. he's 11 years. no reason for his photo on V's birthday (i took some photos in the morning, but i'm too lazy now to get them out of the camera). but i have to write!! ...i realised i never talk about the cats, or not much anyway. i am a cat person anyway. i promised N many years ago, that one day i will take him to live in a place where he can go out. i was getting worried if we're ever gonna make it before it's too late for him. here we are now and he never has to move anymore. N has lived with me in 8 different addresses (i have lived in 13 different addresses in helsinki). i think it explains the peeing problem we've had with him, he's lacking in feeling secure. i've read that cats get attached to places more than to people. i guess he has had to get attached to me because we moved so much... he got quite disturbed when i was away for one whole year. i was lucky to be able to rent my flat and my cat to a friend for that year. i guess i have to post about OUR cat, little H too. another time, with a fresh photo. we don't see her too much.

we have had a nice day with V. waking up late, opening presents in bed, luxurious organic jam with morning porridge, bathing in the morning, painting with new paints, coffee at the bakery, picking up a present from the post office, buying a flower for the traditional photo shoot, doing the photo shoot, making "balls" with dried apricot+sunflower seeds+sesame seeds+coconut+peanut butter+cocoa powder, digging, planting. the 2 previous birthdays were on Sat or Sun, so this was a bit incomplete day, because Y was at work.

please

hoping for good weather for the weekend. it was unusually warm for some weeks and this cold feels so cold now. there are many little flowers to worry about: here black and white currant, so delicate. we bought some apple trees too, and the cherry and plum... and blueberries! and then for the sunday party day, hope we can all spend the day outside. (Manteli capacity is quite small, and still a lot of boxes. yesterday a big step: shelf for records, some books and stereo.)
tomorrow my little fox is 3 years old. fox is the game since couple of days, in the book the fox grows and gets big, but this little fox doesn't get big and run alone in the forest. it must be a bit scary, all this talk about getting so big.

more than this

window series. the two photos on top are from this morning. there was a crazy mist, that dissolved little by little. the field was steaming. (i'm really uncertain with my choice of english words here...) it was beautiful. it's good to get up at 7!
i just finished one translation that was late from deadline. my mum and aunt are with V. i still didn't do anything about the daycare issue, this is not the best solution. my mum should enjoy her half-retirement and come see us when she feels like it.

big improvement in our life: a new record-player and amplifier! music! our daughter has expressed a liking to "hard" music. i played Ekkehard Ehlers in the morning and she said it's not music, too quiet. i guess the finnish word "kova" means hard and loud too. after breakfast we danced to one whole side of Le Tigre and got warm (it's been quite chilly lately). the "harder" it got, the happier she was. my girl! we also got our evening dancing tradition back - it's very functional too now that it's cold.
