He's climbing stairs. He's fast. There are 3 tatami mats upstairs now. There is also a low drawing/playing table you haven't seen yet. He climbs on top of that too. It was my vision and Y built it from discarded stuff. It smells strange. The tatamis smell wonderful.

It is officially autumn now that V's dance classes started too. 2 new girls.

I have so many photos to post and so many things to "tell". I'd like to write letters and send packages, make a little investment and send more packages.

I went to see Kira Kira. She's a sweetie.

Pieni kiipeää yläkertaan kovaa vauhtia. Portaat on aikamoisen vaaralliset. Kiipeää myös tuoleille ja yläkerran piirustuspöydälle, sekin on vaarallinen paikka. Ylhäällä on nyt kolme tatamia, jee! V oli hyvin närkästynyt, kun kutsuin niitä matoiksi. "Eihän noi oo mitään mattoja! Ne on paksuja! Ne on patjoja! Mä ainakin sanon niitä patjoiksi!"

Sellainenkin syksyn merkki, että tanssitunnit alkoivat tänään. Kuvat on harvinaislaatuisesti tältä päivältä.

In one hour we should all be out of the house and heading to Deborah Hay: "Lightening", an exhibition opening, meeting dear dear friend since way too long, picking up tatamis, staying in another Töölö (part if town in Helsinki) address.

I have to go and check whether this "needle-pillow" is for sale or not.

It is beautiful weather today, my favourite time of year has started. And it's my brother's birthday!

Kohta suunnataan Deborah Hay:n koreografiaa katsomaan, huomenna yhden kivan tytön avajaisiin, tapaamaan rakasta ystävää, hakemaan tatameja. Ja Töölöön yöpymään, eri osoitteeseen kuin viimeksi. Ihana ilma, ihanin vuodenaika. Pikkuveljeni täyttää vuosia tänään. Onnea M!!

an evening at the mill

These photos are from the aforementioned evening get-together. I took a photo of the nationalist candle before it was replaced with another one. Lovely walls, aren't they? The weather has been pretty fine since Saturday. We were sooo unlucky, the weather was so bad and only during those critical hours. An event for kids like this has been my dream for a long time.

Y and V went to Flow on Sunday. Me and little V went shopping for shoes, now he has very cute little shoes. I don't really like festivals and seeing too many bands in one day, but when I went to pick V up, it felt a bit sad not to go in. Maybe next year we'll have a family day there. Or maybe not. I've got some good flea-market finds.

Nämä kuvat on sieltä myllyltä. Siellä on niin kauniit seinät. Voisi pitää siellä illanistujaisia useamminkin. Kaikki nämä kauniit, sateettomat, ukkosettomat päivät kirpaisevat nyt -- miksei voinut lauantainakin ollajonkinlainen ihan ok sää? Vaikka edes kello kolmeen asti. No, pitää keksiä jotain uutta. Jossain lähellä sateen- ja myrskynsuojia. Y ja V oli Flow'ssa, minä ja pieni kaupungilla. Ehkä vielä joskus voisi mennä festareille. Vaikkei festareilla mitään maailman hauskinta ole. Oli hauska kysellä tyttäreltä millaista siellä oli.

what a day

I got up before 8 this morning and got out of the house before 9. I packed the car and went to the beach. There were already 3 others, putting up a big tent. It looked nice and I imagined that just hanging out inside the tent would be fun for the kids. Then came rain. Then came thunder. We had to cancel the children's beach party we were planning since January. What a rotten luck.

But we had a party anyway. At home in the still unfinished but therefore quite empty veranda. There were 3 friends' families who were going to come to the event and we made leaf wings and necklaces and everything. Wheelbarrow rides. In the afternoon there were some clear hours and we ate outside with the table and tablecloths that were meant for a little cafeteria.

Finally we went for an evening swim and then to the evening event for grown-ups. We ended up staying there quite late. Music from old disks, a film and poetry. And cake. Such a good day. But I think I will realise tomorrow what a big disappointment it was.

Tänään piti olla Lasten rantajuhla. Kaikkialla ei kai satanut, mutta täällä alkoi sataa kaatamalla heti, kun oltiin saatu iso teltta pystyyn rannalle. Eikä vain satanut, vaan jyrisi ja salamoi niin, että pakenimme paikalta. Juhla, jota oltiin suunniteltu tammikuusta saakka jouduttiin perumaan. Meillä oli kuitenkin juhlat, kotona kuistilla kolmen ystäväperheen kanssa! Illalla oltiin uimassa ja aikuisten iltatapahtumassa myllyllä, loppujen lopuksi aika myöhään. Siellä soitettiin savikiekkoja, katsottiin filmi ja kuunneltiin runoutta. Ja syötiin kakkuja, jotka oli tarkoitettu päiväjuhlaan. Oli niin kiva päivä ja niin kova pettymys. Yritetään uudelleen syyskuussa.

i was going to post about animals

I only remember that I was going to say that I'm knitting a giraffe. The photos have nothing to do with animals. Oh yes, I'm reading a book "L'élégance du hérisson" (the elegance of a hedgehog, I read in finnish). That's another animal. I read 100 pages before I started to like it. It was around then that I was moved to tears by jasmine tea. There have been many good days. My favourite one is yesterday. (There are always bad days too, but who cares.)

It went like this: Coffee and cake in an organic café I hadn't been to before and it was run by an old acquaintance. The cake was made by his mother. Then nice eco-shopping. I have a new love: pumpkin seed butter. Then nice playground, both kids enjoying themselves. Then best food. Then amusement park ex tempore. V got to ride on 3 different things. I got wonderful new shampoo. Well that's it. What was perfect was that I was in a good calm mood. Patient and everything.

Luen "Siilin eleganssia", Outi sitä luki ensin. Ihastuin kirjan nimeen niiiin kovasti. Ja sadan sivun jälkeen kirjaankin. Olen rakastunut kurpitsansiementahnaan. Ostin sellaisen purkin eilen, ja siitä on kadonnut jo puolet. Kudon (=neulon) kirahvia. Sinistä. Eilen oli ihana päivä. Käyn tosi harvoin Kalliossa nykyään. Siellä oli kivaa. Vanhan tutun kahvilassa hyvää kakkua, jonka oli tehnyt sen äiti. Illalla mentiin vielä Lintsille, V oli eka kertaa.

this and that

Puuh, finished a translation. When I'm not posting here I'm not working either.
I got new books: a knitting book and 2 books by Emma Adbåge. I like her drawings a lot. So many cute details.
V made a TV and a remote control. Have to take a photo of that too. She hasn't watched a lot of TV in her life. There is a program of animals dancing.
I'm expecting 3 babies in the winter. (Friends' babies.) Very happy about that but it feels horrible to say the word winter.
There are 6,5 rows of logs in the log house. Y has a helper.
We all had a nice evening swim, V got a bedtime story by the lake. Y lost his glasses in the lake.
I have nice new tea from Théhuone, I finally went for the first time. I went to get macha chocolate, but I thought I might as well get some tea too. It is organic touareg mint & green tea.
I'd like to write a lot right now, but I'm too out of focus. Good night.

Ajatukset on sekavampia kuin kuvat. Eikä kuvat niin sekavia olekaan. Kerron siitä kuvasta, jossa on eläimiä, että se on V:n televisio. Siinä ohjelmassa eläimet tanssivat. Siihen on kaukosäädinkin. Ja "anteni". Mä jotenkin tykkään lapsen virheistä sanoissa, ei tee mieli korjata, kun se niin tärkeänä puhui antenista. Ja vaikka "kuoluttaa". Kaikista paras on "huiluttaa". Se on viheltää, mutta kyllähän se tietää jo sen sanan. Kaikissa leikeissä "näiden äiti on tapettu". Kuulin taas uuden vauvauutisen, kolme vauvaa ensi talveksi! Mutta sana "talvi" kauhistuttaa. No niin. Hyvää yötä. Oli ihana iltauinti, nää myöhäisemmän kesän uinnit on niin arvokkaita.
